Mikael Gabriel – Tokio
A music video I wrote and directed for Mikael Gabriel’s Elonmerkki album rollout, continuing the dreamlike world created by director Viivi Huuska (www.viivihuuska.com).
Winner of Best Music Video, Emma Gala, Finland.
The film is built around the image of a Betta fish, drawn from the artist’s sense of living under constant observation. It explores what it means to care for another when caring for oneself feels impossible. Through this fragile act of rescue, the fish becomes a metaphor for survival and release – a reminder of how despair can suddenly tilt into clarity.
